At the June 21, 2011 Dinner Meeting, GMSHRM members voted to approve modification of Section 6.7 of GMSHRM By-Laws, thereby eliminating the cap on the total number of years that a person could serve as a voting member of the Board.

The cap on the number of consecutive years a person could serve as a voting member of the Board will remain.   The modification seeks to widen the candidate pool of individuals being considered for members of the Board while still providing a mechanism to promote the entry of new individuals to the Board.

Before presentation for vote by general membership, this modification was approved by the GMSHRM Board and by SHRM.
