Soles 4 Haiti Update
Please remember to bring your donation of flip flops to our holiday party. Our campaign continues to help our neighbors in need.
As the year comes to an end, GMSHRM members should be proud of the role they played in helping children in Haiti overcome the devastation wrought by the January earthquake and now most recently by Hurricane Tomas in donating over 2,500 pairs of brand new flip flops to Harvest International through our partnership with AmericasRelief Team, surpassing our goal of 2,010!!
We would particularly like to thank a number of organizations and individuals who played an amazing role in coordinating the collection of flip flops at their work places. Marriott Hotels led by Nicole Larrivee, Director of Human Resources in their Global Reservations Sales & Customer Care collected 933 pairs, Dade County Federal Credit Union led by their CEO, George Joseph and VP of Human Resources, Rita Rosen collected 629 pairs, and Burger King led by Joan Gliboff, Director of Total Rewards collected over 400 pairs. Other fine organizations that contributed substantial amounts include Transatlantic Re, Kingsway Amigo Ins. Co and Crescent Heights. Our thanks also goes to many in our membership who individually brought several pairs to our meetings every month.
