GMSHRM Welcomes Elizabeth Suarez in November

Faculty and Inclusiveness Professional in Strategic Facilitation, Mediation, Training, Public Speaking and Marketing, Elizabeth Suárez is a conflict resolution and inclusiveness/cultural competency strategist and an Alternative Dispute Resolution and Leadership Studies Faculty at University of Denver (University College and The Women’s College). A Puerto Rican native, she has over 20 years experience in Corporate America and the small business arenas. Elizabeth is considered an expert at offering a strong blend of multicultural understanding and strategic direction while judiciously analyzing the overall situation. Her no-nonsense, hands-on business philosophy is highly regarded by her long list of clients.
Her client list includes non-profit organizations such as The Denver Foundation, The Kempe Foundation, Donor Alliance, Denver Health, New America School, Jefferson County Sheriff Department and American Lung Association, as well as for-profit entities such as RTC, Best Mexico, Local Insight Media and Franklin Court Partners. She also has worked closely with government institutions such as CDOT (via her relationship with Webb PR), Colorado Health Department and the City of Commerce City, in the creation of effective marketing and research strategies related to long-term growth and overall community inclusiveness.
Elizabeth earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. In addition, she completed the Executive Management Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and is a graduate of the prestigious National Hispana Leadership Institute (NHLI) program as well as the Center for Creative Leadership and Leadership Denver. In 2007 she completed 40 hours of hands-on mediation training from the Colorado Council of Mediators and the Colorado Bar Association.
Elizabeth habitually associates herself with organizations that allow her to give back to the community, a cause about which she has always been passionate. She has spent many memorable years mentoring the Hispanic youth of the Denver metro area via her association with some local area high schools as well as Junior Achievement and The Hermanitas program.. She currently serves as Secretary for Girls Inc. Board, and sits on the boards Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Junior Achievement National Hispanic Initiative Advisory Board.
Elizabeth was a recipient of the 2007 Be Bold Award from the Colorado’s Women Foundation. In 2006 she was granted the Women of Achievement Award from the Women in Communication Association, Denver Chapter. In 2005 she was recognized as one of the nation’s Top Latinas in the “Business-Entrepreneur” category by Hispanic Magazine, as well as being named on the “2004 Top Latinas” list featured in Latina Style Magazine.
